Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test or EAMCET is an entrance examination for admission of students to engineering, medical, pharmacy, biotechnology, veterinary courses in private or government colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

Admission Procedure Details:

In EAMCET rankings, 75% weightage is given to EAMCET score and 25% weightage is given to aggregate score of relevant subjects at the intermediate level.In case of a tie in the merit list, priority is accorded to candidates by comparing different criteria in the following order:

Total marks in EAMCET:

Marks in Mathematics or Biology sections of the test paper
Marks in Physics section of the examination
Percentage of aggregate scores in the qualifying examination
Date of birth with priority to older students

Pattern of EAMCET:

EAMCET single-stage examination is conducted individually for medical and engineering stream candidates. The test has 200 objective and multiple-choice type questions that have to be solved in 180 minutes only. So, speed matters in EAMCET.

Test paper for engineering stream courses consists of three sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

Test paper for Medical stream courses consists of four sections: Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry

Eligibility for EAMCET:

As far as eligibility conditions are concerned, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility requirements for applying to the EAMCET examination:

• The candidate should be of Indian National.

• As far as age requirement is concerned, candidates must have completed 16 years of age on the 31st of December of the educational year during which he/she has applied for the EAMCET examination.

• The Candidate should have passed the qualifying examination (10+2) or equivalent on the date of His / Her counseling for admission. The candidate should also have secured a rank at the common entrance Test and satisfy other conditions laid down in these rules.

• Candidates should also satisfy the non-local/local status requirements as laid down in the Regulations of Admission named as Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions Act 1974 as subsequently modified for the purpose of admission of candidates into A category seats in unaided professional institutions and for all seats in University colleges
